Though Memphis Bleek enjoyed some moderate success in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, he’s been long considered that his career is fully credited to Jay Z.

In a new interview with ThisIs50, the rap vet discusses his friendship with Jay Z, how it’s helped and hindered his rap career, and the shoutout Hov gave him on the “Diamonds (Remix)”. According to Bleek, Hov’s help early on was an early advantage, but when he became a rap superstar, he’s essentially been standing in his shadow.
